Pine Bluff Police investigating Monday homicide

The Pine Bluff Police Department has released the following statement:
On June 17, 2024, at about 8:30 AM, Officers of the Pine Bluff Police Department responded to a reported shooting at 2517 S. Cherry, Cherry St. Liquor. When officers arrived, they located 44-year-old Mary Christopher in a black passenger car located on the parking lot. Mary had apparent gunshot wounds and was unresponsive. She was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Witnesses stated that Mary’s husband, 58-year-old Gregory Christopher Sr. was talking to her from outside of the vehicle when he shot her. Gregory then fled the scene. Mary’s 8-year-old son was in the vehicle when Mary was shot. He did not receive any physical injuries. The motive for the homicide is unknown at this time.
Just after 10:00 AM, and officer advised that Gregory Christopher’s vehicle was seen on a FLOCK camera entering Regional Park. Officers responded to Regional Park and located Mr. Christopher in his vehicle near the waterfront. Mr. Christopher had what appears to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound and was unresponsive. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Pine Bluff Police Department is in the early stages of a homicide investigation after a woman was shot and killed at Cherry Street Liquor around 8:30 Monday morning.
An argument between a man and woman led to the shooting, according to SeArk Times sources.
Sources tell SeArk Times that the shooter and victim did know one another, with two sources stating they were husband and wife. That has not been confirmed by family nor the Pine Bluff Police Department.
The name of the victim has not been released at this time.
