McGehee Police/ASP investigating Thursday homicide
The Arkansas State Police are investigating a homicide in McGehee following a request from the McGehee Police Department to assist with the investigation.
According to a press release the McGehee Police Department responded to the corner of South 2nd Street and Cedar Street at approximately 8:50 p.m. on May 30. Upon arrival, officers located 33-year-old Tresmond Powell of McGehee lying in the street with a gunshot wound to the upper chest.
Aid was rendered by officers until EMS arrived. Powell was transported to the McGehee Hospital, then to UAMS in Little Rock where he died during surgery at approximately 6 a.m. on May 31.
Powell’s body has been sent to the Arkansas State Crime Lab for an autopsy.
